Pohutukawa Paradise

What a stunning New Year's Day we had…relaxed morning with a few mindless tasks and a 20 minute buzz to the Outlet Beach under Mount Tarawera for a leisurely swim in the clear water and only one other fizz boat and 2 kayaks on the beach plus a family of swimmers from the nearby camp having fun in the water.
The pohutukawa is sometimes called New Zealand's Christmas Tree as it bursts into scarlet around Christmas each year and is looking particularly spectacular at Tarawera this year.
