Frozen Sparkler

A frozen sparkler,
Quietly heralds the year,
While fireworks explode.


......New Years Eve 2014....
... I'm a bit of an old curmudgeon when it comes to New Year's eve ... always find it a bit emotional somehow ...silly really when it's just an arbitrary milestone.

This time Tash was with us as she was feeling ill and wasn't up to partying, also Greg and his girlfriend were here, so we stayed in and watched films we had recorded ... one of which was Psycho .... what a masterpiece.  It's been so parodied and copied and yet watching the original again my breath was taken away by the photography/cinematography.  . the dramatic use of shadows and light, the restraint used to portray horror and violence made it all the more chilling.  It just wouldn't work in colour. And we spotted Mr H!

We broke off half way to open the bubbly and  switch over to Jools for the countdown ...    Ruby Turner showing up some of the younger singers... then back to Psycho ....

Anyway here we are in 2015 ...... I hope it is a good year for everybody and wish you all health and happiness and another 12 months of blip love.

Was going to quote Tennysons Ring Out Wild Bells ... but noticed I did it last year  !
