Happiest of New Years!
Well the Masked Ball was just fun! The organisers had carefully thought out all aspects of it. As you arrived you entered via a lit tunnel and walked up onto a stage with a backdrop of a grand staircase and were announced - by a name they assigned to you! Everyone had really gone to town on dressing for the occasion and masks were worn by all! The decorations had been made by the arty people and were stupendous creations of paper and willow and the nibbles, made again by a local woman, were very moreish!
I found a mouse to chase! plus I got a bit of sunbathing in! We had a quick dash to the pub for a vodka and Red Bull and a look at the various attire of the people there - bar staff in Germanic dress and a nice steam punk quartet! Back to the hall for lots of great dancing, for which I eventually had to take off my shoes ! Even better midnight was suddenly upon us with no clock checking at any point, for a very good Auld Lange Syne! Back for a chill out where we had all set out from and then I meandered back home! Today I took very gently after a morning stroll with Portly Lucy - my first dog walk of 2015!
A really lovely way to end the old year and start the new!
