New Year's Day Walk and lunch

A short walk around the Longshaw Estate in the northern Peak District along paths still covered in ice and beside small streamlets rushing with the flow of the melt-water from the surrounding hills.  Followed by a lovely sociable lunch at Jan's house.  It's a shame the sun had gone but at least we didn't get rained on and the heavy rain came later in the afternoon.
