Greetings from the Ukraine

We had a great New Year’s Eve party with friends up in Perth last night and we returned home this afternoon.
 
Now its hangover time.
 
This is matched with the weather- a dreich day- rain, darkness and everything totally shut down.  In fact a day for staying indoors in front of the fire.
 
One problem though: where to find a blip? I hunted through my festive cards and this one from the Ukraine caught my eye.
 
 
 
Some years ago we hosted Christmas for two young Ukrainian girls under the HOST international student scheme.
 
 Now one of them has sent us this photo of her little girl with St Nicholas.
 
I must say he casts a much more impressive figure that our own Santa Claus and I love his outfit.
