Start the way you mean to go on (perhaps)?

It's New Years Day, so Happy New Year to you all and thanks so much for following my journal; particularly the recent new followers who are very welcome.

It was wet and wild so I decided to stay undercover and tidy up the garage, aka move a lot of things around. I can now put my car inside for the winter.

I found some apples in a bucket from the autumn. To my surprise a number were still good.  So, out came the 100 Best Apple recipe book. I baked three different recipes tonight.  They are not really burned, however they look. The one on the left is an open flan, topped with dark brown sugar which bubbled over and caramelised on the floor of the oven. Sigh.

These are all going in the freezer ready for people coming to dinner.  Hard not to test them out.........

I rarely bake puddings and I doubt this will become a habit (note to Mum, just in case your hopes were raised!!)
