Marler Road

Canley, Coventry

I love the work of George Shaw. Ever since I saw his exhibition 'What I Did This Summer' at the Ikon in Birmingham, back in 2003. Then I went over to Canley with a pocket Olympus XA. Today I went a wandering through Canley and Tile Hill, Coventry, with a working title of  'Poor Imitations of George Shaw' ringing in my mind.

I sought and found several lines of garages, but along the way made time to shoot the houses, the bus stops, and the recreational, shopping and parking areas. But I've chosen a different shot for today's blip, simply because the object may be gone soon. Though each fence panel could pass for an up and over door. I thought the permanent stuff can wait until later. Which is a little ironic given that behind this fence stands the now defunct Canley Sports and Social Club. It was still operational when Google came by in 2014. I guess that's why the fence needs decorating.
