The Da Yooper Plunge, Menominee

To celebrate the New Year, teams of volunteers brave the frigid waters of the Bay of Green Bay on Lake Michigan in what has now become an annual event. Today was the 5th year of the Da Yooper Plunge.
We went to cheer on those submersing themselves in the ice-covered bay. I was so glad for the participants (and myself) that it was a balmy -8 degrees centigrade today!
The majority of 'Plungers' jumped into the icy waters of Green Bay, achieving full body submersion. Well done to everyone involved.
