The Year of the Sheep

The sheep is the eighth symbol in the Japanese Zodiac. As sheep live in flocks peacefully, they were considered as the symbol of a happy family life. This sign represents “peace” and “security”.

Traditionally too in Japan children get a money gift: お年玉 and Hana and Skye's envelopes are sitting next to the new year display in this photo.
