Happy New Year?

This is the only photo I took today - for reasons which will be obvious.

I was awake early with a headache (!) when #2 son stomped in and then up not too late, to balance the credit card, as you do.  It was very wet and windy, but really warm, reached 13 degrees later.

We had a plan, go see the great grandparents, then out to Bonnyrig to see the family there and home for a nice meal, steak?

The first bit happened and then it went pear shaped.  Dad had fallen during the night and after 45 minutes on the floor the paramedics had had to be called to get him up and check him out.   He seemed ok but there were concerns, more for my mum s much as for him.  And once the medics in the family got involved with long distance diagnosing and support there was no alternative but to get out of hours involved and eventually just get a taxi to ERI.

That process started just after 2, we got home exhausted and starving just before 9.  Of course it was worse for mum and dad but bad enough for #1 son and me.  I was stressed and exhausted (thank goodness for the bananas I'd taken down) and I don't know how they felt.

But everything is ok, well as well as can be expected, and one positive is that the OT falls team will now go in and do a full assessment.  But was even that worth the 6 hours of stress.  We'll never know.

And then when we got home the wind whipped the car door open, wrenching #1 son's bad shoulder.  He is in pain and suffering. #3 son is still bad too, an asthmatic with a chest infection that has gone on for weeks. And Olivia cried a lot last night but Wen made dinner and that was New Year's Day 2015 over.

Does that mean 'things can only get better'.
