Smokey 1600 hr

I had decided to refrain from blipping until Blip Central had fixed the problems that most affected me - support for the GPS location data included in the EXIF data; Anniversaries being recognised from joining date again; the tagging information that make up all my series' links working as they did; ordinary tags giving meaningful results; view counts for all views, not just logged-in members; ability to disable stars; the return of statistics; a usable navigation system for adding to the map with a memory of last location and hopefully the addition of one's own past pins and hybrid street/satellite views; etc. etc.

Today I found that one of these bugs has been fixed: GPS data is now being recognised. The navigation process for manually adding locations is still awful, but this can be avoided by making sure the GPS is added prior to upload. If the camera doesn't add it automatically, free software such as Picasa can be utilised.

Ironically, Smokey was photographed at home, for which I don't add location data, but I was sufficiently encouraged to tentatively add one more blip. Let's see what progress follows...
