A road less travelled
A quiet morning packing up bags, tidying up and pottering about. In the afternoon I headed out with Mum to visit Grannie. We took the scenic route into town. We ended up on a road I'd never been along. I wondered why Mum had directed me to drive this way along a single track road when there was a perfectly acceptable main road into town. Eventually I was ordered to pull over and stop. A solitary tree stood in a field. If we'd been along in the morning the mist in the distance would probably have been lingering around the tree.
Grannie wasn't too good when we visited. I was unsure whether she knew who we were. She'd had an incident at lunchtime and was nil by mouth until the Speech and Language Therapist could assess her. She's been put on a pureed diet to allow her to eat easier. Over the last year I've been sure each time I saw her would be the last. But this time, it probably was. She's awaiting a bed in nursing care.
After picking up some shopping, we remembered another errand that needed done so off we went before home.
