Hilbre Island

Walked over to Hilbre Island today from West Kirkby. It was into a gale, and in one or two places water went over our boots. But we had set out two hours after high tide, rather than three. It meant that we felt like pioneers. The first ones there. Coming back was easy and I now feel as if I have enough fresh air in my lungs to last a good while.
