Embers

Spent today in the usual tidying frenzy ( have to start the new year with at least a semi-tidy house and up to date with the ironing) before meeting up with a group of friends to see in the new year. One of them had brought a Swedish Log Candle to try out - it was an upright log about 3 ft high and about a foot across which had a star chainsawed into the top half of of it. You pack the gaps with firelighters and other flammable material and it creates a compact log fire which burns down from the inside out but was very cosy to stand around. Can see a few of them being taken on our summer camping trips.
