Almscliffe Crag
I've long admired Almscliffe Crag from afar; a striking isolated nobble of millstone grit that rises over Wharfedale. So, while the rest of the family went spending Christmas vouchers in Harrogate, I decamped at Huby and climbed up to the crags.
Visibility was great, and this view is to the south over Wharfedale, with my more familiar territory of Rombalds Moor on the skyline. The wind was strong though, so the climbers were avoiding the more exposed routes, and even just wandering around looking at all the rock carvings I had to tread carefully.
A spectacular place, and definitely one to revisit.
