Little Lizard

I thought that I had captured my blip for today until I went up to the allotment. Luckily I had my camera with me along with a flask of hot tea.
I was digging over the patch ready to plant the broccoli when I unearthed this little chap who has been overwintering under the black plastic amongst the manure. He seemed quite unfazed by having a lens shoved next to him and I managed to get a few shots before he vanished back into the crusty topsoil.
Needless to say I haven't dug the area around his home so he can rest easy.
He was about five inches long with beautiful long fingers!
Nice juicy worms nearby too - they have been working hard for us over the past few months.
