So, on the first day of my annual leave, I went grocery shopping with my parents, because they were going to be meeting up with my aunt, and I had not seen her for a while.

BookyGoatherd very kindly told me that the next few weeks will be AWFUL for me - the weeks before my departure - and she may well be right. I've been waiting patiently for some important documents to arrive via the post, only to be told today that they were despatched on 27 April..! The documents will have to be re-sent, causing further delays...

The scientists really need to step up their work on teleporting - I'm thinking it is the only stress-free way to travel.
