GSBC

I snapped this building in Grange-over-Sands this morning. Like most people, I have mixed feelings about our banks (modern day robber barons, or providers of essential utilities?). But I also mourn the closure of so many of their rural branches. Of course, I'm part of the problem - never using a branch since I do most of my banking online or in the post office. But not everyone has grasped, or wants to grasp, these more modern ways of handling money and they're left with very few options as branches are culled in the name of efficiency.

This building was a branch of HSBC until November 2013. It's now a pet supply shop, but I prefer my brother's suggestion when he heard the place was about to be vacated. He thought the building was perfectly proportioned to accommodate a micro brewery which would just have to be called the Grange-over-Sands Brewing Company, or GSBC.
