View from the top

Lovely day for a walk, but with a sneaky wind.  Met up with friends at Bolton Abbey (it was extremely busy and the car park heaving!).  We walked to Barden Bridge (Barden Tower seen here in the distance) walking on the higher paths to take in a few hills (not like me at all!), which unfortunately meant that we missed the 12 days of Christmas trail.  The river was high and very wild with all the recent rain.  We returned on the other side of the river, and back to the Cavendish Pavilion for a welcome cuppa.  That wind was chilly when we sat outside the cafe (inside was packed), but we finalised our plans for Istanbul in the spring, so something to look forward to!
