Waddesdon

What a stunningly beautiful crisp blue day. I took advantage of the telly in the bedroom before getting up by 10.15am and we headed straight out to take another sneak peek at the progress on C's house which is mid renovation. It's looking good and is certainly changing a lot.

We then went to a lovely modern large, warm dining pub in Grendon Underwood called The Akerman. We had a delicious lunch with C and S and Teddy and Tilly and we had lots of cheeky smiles, laughs and giggles from Teddy and I got to have Tilly cuddles too. Bonus. The pudding was the best bit, a nutty, brownie sundae. Perfection. I would go back there just for that and it's not often I'd say a thing like that!

Then it was down the road to Waddesdon where PPP+H met us for a lovely walk round the gardens to see the aviary and the excellent woodland children's play area. At the Stables we enjoyed the sheepskin lined chairs in the outdoor cafe seating area (total luxury) and then the stunning after dark art light installations. All quite magical and a real treat. I'm so glad we went and all free on the National Trust card!

We got home at 6.30ish, had an omelette tea and then I watched the Saints beat Newcastle in an excellent match at Franklins Gardens (on the telly).

Another great family day. Wonderful.
