Whats in a name

Today the little ones have had their hair cut. They sat next to each other whilst they had it done. When I got in Boy proudly told me the names of the hairdressers taht cut his and Girl's hair. I asked him his mane and he ignored me. He tends to do this.

Throughout dinner I persisted as I do want to hear him say his own name. Suddenly he told me not his first name but his second name. Luckily we have a one of those first name last names so it sounds ok even if it is a little wrong. I continued trying to get his first name out of him but the more I tried the more often I heard the surname.

Maybe he prefers it.
