Thunder Creek Falls

On the way from Haast to Wanaka.  We made several stops and enjoyed short forest walks to scenes like this.  Amazing country.  We had coffee at Makarora then Mrs KD drove the rest of the family to Wanaka while I rode the last 75 km.  It was the best road ride I've ever done.  Along the shores of Lake Wanaka, then up over the narrow stretch of land, called "The Neck" which separates Lakes Wanaka and Hawea, along the shores of Lake Hawea then through Albert Town to Wanaka.  Stunning, stunning scenery.  Perfect weather.  That was a good day.
