No, it's not a scratch

Not a particularly spectacular sunset tonight.  However, this vapour trail looks rather different in grey, after the sun has slipped beneath the clouds and no longer shines on it. We rarely see aircraft flying this route, so vapour trails don't often spoil the cloud formations above Castle Rock.
