The Christmas Tree
There it stands in all its spendour for the final few days of the festive season. Yet again Susan's magnificently decorated tree is the centrepiece of our decorations this year. Standing in the conservatory the tree can be seen from inside and out and the tree lights reflect on the conservatory windows. Always good to have a record of this sight each year.
The large tree is one of three trees in the house along with a multitude of garlands, decorations, lights and Christmas ornaments some new, some old, all with a memory associated with them. Of the other two trees one is in the living room and one in the porch. No garish outside decorations for Susan.
It was a lovely day in the end, the early cloud cleared away while we were in the gym and by midday it was clear and sunny, just the day to go to the allotment clean the car after its journey to Edinburgh and back over Christmas. Looks smart now, but rain is forecast overnight so it won't last long.
Susan had a go at making a loaf using the mixer and it turned out really good and was enjoyed with our traditional Friday evening omlette and salad. It was a malted wholemeal loaf made 350g of wholemeal four and 50g of white flour which seems to be a good way of ensuring the loaf is not too dense.
