I'd previously caught the cob pulling loose sticks up from the pond and slinging them towards the nest, but I'd not realised he'd been pulling fresh reeds out of the ground!

After a couple of dozen reeds have been pulled (look behind him) he wanders off for a drink and a snack - you know how it is...

Dunno how big a swan's brain is but it's much larger than that the moron driving the large black Chelsea Tractor (index plate HK 10 ...) who overtook me (on the inside!) on the M11 slip road this morning - only to discover the queue behind the caravan doing 45mph in front of me.
