Carrisbrooke

The yo-yo weather conditions are continuing into the New Year with a bright sunny mild day so after a shopping visit to Newport I drove to  the village of Carrisbrooke for a walk around the village and castle walls.

The old road leading from the church and High Street leads down to a ford that can be crossed on foot and occasionally catches out motorists who are foolhardy enough to try to cross when the water is high.

It is a fairly steep but pleasant climb from here up to the castle where there are walks around the old walls with great views all around.
