Arty church

Rather than being restored in the traditional way this church in rural France was given to a local artist to decorate as he wished. I think more buildings should have this done, I'd certainly be more inclined to visit. Our ideas of building conservation are very peculiar I think, humans have always re-vamped everything, why do we now insist on perfect conservation in the 21st century?
