Eileen tickles Bomble
Eileen, who is Helena's good friend from their Edinburgh university days together, came over with her daughter Kirsty to have lunch with us today. They live near Cirencester, about fifteen miles away, but we don't get to meet often enough.
We are lucky that they have stayed at our house on several occasions in order to have a change of scenery but also to look after Bomble who they both love dearly. He was as usual asleep when they arrived but was easily roused and came downstairs to enjoy the company.
We asked Kirsty if she had ever seen the wonderfully funny animated cartoons called 'Simon's cat', which can easily be found on Youtube (Watch the 'Wake up' cartoon). She didn't know about them, so Helena went to get her iPad to show her. Whilst she located them online, Bomble was being treated to cuddles and tickles by Eileen, which he is a sucker for.
Kirsty found the cartoons hilarious and proceeded to have a look at most of them before we had the specially cooked delicious soup that Helena had prepared. After a short break we then had a cup of tea to accompany the gorgeous and rich chocolate and orange cake which she made last night.
I was pleased to be able to use the nifty fifty lens again for the first time in ages. It was particularly useful given the low light of this dismal wet Saturday afternoon. I just want to join Bomble now who has returned to his big sleep on our bed. See you later.
