No Bell
This is St Thomas' Parish church in Stockton Heath. They ran out of money when they were building it in the 1860s and the bell tower was not added until about 10 years later. They never got round to adding a north aisle or putting bells in the tower.
A few years ago a peal of 8 bells became available from a redundant church elsewhere in Cheshire and they are in storage awaiting work to be completed on the tower at St Thomas' so that they can be hung there. Everything is on course and a few weeks ago a new group of bell ringers started their training in various other local towers. All being well the bells will be hung in about 18 months time by which time the bell ringers will hopefully be proficient.
