Camellias

I grew up in Ohio and went to school and lived for awhile in the NorthEast.   Then moved to Atlanta in 1973.  I will never forget that first winter down here.  No snow boots for kids ( I was a Kindergarten teacher and the boot thing took forever- they weren't as easy as they are now) and  then driving around after Xmas saw bushes with these big red things on them.  I thought they were decorations that people had not taken down.  I remember getting out of my car and walking in someones yard to check it out.  I cannot begin to tell you how surprised I was to see gorgeous gorgeous flowers blooming in January.  We now have quite a few in our yard and I treasure them!!!!!
