Celebration

Today we celebrated my mom's 80th birthday.  Almost the whole immediate family was able to attend - lunch followed by a music presentation by one daughter and two of the grandchildren, flute, violin and steel drum.  We held it at the independent living center where they live now and quite a few other residents attended the music presentation.  It was a very special day, included photos and a video through the years.  

There had been a troubling forecast of a "wintry mix" supposed to be coming in the afternoon into the evening.  And it arrived.  By the time we all left to go home temperatures had risen just slightly so the roads were mostly wet and not slippery.  Tomorrow is supposed to be quite warm, and then Monday is supposed to be frigid.  Wonderful.
