Snow!

Drove up to the foothills of the Cascades today to do one of our favorite family hikes, Big Four Ice Caves, when we heard it was covered in snow.  I think daddy was just looking for an excuse to buy crampons for our shoes, but I welcomed his suggestion of a family outing.  As much as I made fun of them, the crampons worked wonderfully for me (Alex lost both of his on the trail) and allowed us to climb up a huge icy piece of the caves that had broken off recently in an avalanche at the site.  Stayed and played in the snow until almost dark and had to drag Alex away from the snow banks as he would've stayed all night.  First hike of 2015 in the books and I look forward to more as Isaac predicts this is the "year of hikes" for us.  He just wants to buy more gear.  ;)
