Cooling off
Although the weather forecasters told us to expect 30 C here in Blenheim today there was a thin layer of cloud covering the sky when I ventured out with the dog. However Fergus decided that he would cool off just in case….
The clouds did lift mid-morning and it was hot, hot hot. Not much wind and gloriously sunny.
We were invited to spend time with the owners of the house we have purchased in Springlands, across town from here. Well, at least they were the previous owners although final settlement does not take place until February the fourth. Today was a chance for us all to get to know each other in order to build a good relationship for the future. We had a wonderful time culminating in a barbeque meal together. It will be good to be able to phone them in the future to ask about various aspects of the house and garden.
We have been hearing about the very bad bushfires in Victoria and in South Australia and feel very anxious for the folk living there. It must be extremely difficult for everyone, residents and fire-fighters alike. We hope the weather becomes kinder and this crisis soon ends.
