Spruce Harvest

There's a plantation of sitka spruce near to where I live and the Coillte men have just started harvesting. Their machines are giantesque. ( I don't think that word works, it has a red line under it ) . Trunks of tall, tall trees are handled like match sticks; well, almost. This is most definitely a cash crop, and one of the few which grow on the thin soil of these hills. Ecologically they are a disaster.
