Concrete Pumper
I have long been fascinated by concrete pumpers, those long, elephantine booms that pour cement into hard to reach forms. It probably has something to do with the project we did in Bangladesh where we transported an entire ceiling's worth of cement up two flights of stairs by hand using the old-fashioned bucket assembly line. A concrete pumper would completed in an hour what took us two back breaking days to do. It didn't help that all we had to mix the concrete was a rattly old diesel powered mixer with a capacity of less than 200 liters.
Bangladesh aside, these machines just look cool and when I looked out my window this afternoon I saw this one, I just had to capture it. I also just got a new lens and wanted to try out the zoom. I am very happy with it and look forward to many more distance pictures.
