Aground

There was drama in the Solent last night when a car transporter leaving Southampton ran aground on a sandbank known locally as The Brambles.

The crew were all  safely taken off the vessel which has settled at an angle of  45 degrees. Fortunately it is out of the main  channel into and out of Southampton so is not affecting the busy shipping traffic too much.

Could have done with rather better light but it has been dull and grey all day. The winds are light which will help the salvage attempts.
