Sunsetting

I was a bit later than planned going out today which meant the sun had already dropped out of site at the Shore and gave me this view before catching the bus into town. I managed to get a couple more images in town but thought this was the best. 

I then retreated to The Hanging Bat for a couple beers before heading back to Leith and The Vintage, where I was told by the bar staff that it is closing! Tomorrow will be their last day, the bar staff were told just before Christmas that they're all being let go :-( They did say they didn't really know why (muttering about "politics") but I suspect it comes down to economics, they have been very quiet during the week, I suspect they're just not getting enough customers. The official post on Facebook says they're going to have a refurb. for "a reboot and to install some specialist equipment" and they'll be "collaborating on a new venture in 2015 in our 'Leith Lab' location on Henderson St". The post also says they'll be looking for "a new larger home for the original Charcuterie & Craft Beer Bar in Edinburgh's city centre" which is exciting to hear. The food was always excellent and I suspect if they get the right location they'll be much more successful in town. It'll be interesting to see what happens but I'll be sad to see it go, it was the only nice bar nearby that regularly served a wide range of interesting beers.
