What a beautiful, sunny day to send off 2014. Mum came over for some soup, then we bundled up and had a stroll along the river to Whitehouse beach; a regular haunt, and a walk that never gets dull. The light along the river was incredible, it was a lovely way to round off the year.

We had a few friends come over for the evening, and it gave me the chance to try out a recipe from my new Leon Vegetarian book (very tasty). Two friend's and their toddler had to leave around 10.30pm as he unsurprisingly wouldn't settle, so the three of us left played some board games, had a wander round Wiv and the quay at midnight, and ended up chatting into the wee hours. G and I walked our friend home, and started the new year with a 3am bike ride, cycling along the Quay holding hands; a spot-on start to the year!
