Lamp of Good Hope. Leitz Summitar 50mm, Bellows II

This lamp occupies an area of about 9x4mm on the face of a silver medal commemorating the 150th anniversary of the University of Cape Town, previously Blipped here.  Since Cape Town is the City of Good Hope, the University's motto is "Spes Bona".  With the start of a new year, one is irresistibly drawn to a hope for new and better things, or, at least the sustenance of old things...  Maybe if the lamp is rubbed just right...
