By the Fish River

Today 20 of us went out with the walking group.  Some of us walked from Davis Flat to Haast Pass, following the Fish River upstream.  Others drove to the Pass, then walked back to meet the walkers on the Bridle Track. This photo is of our lunch spot, and yes were bitten by many, many sandflies!  3 of us then walked to the Haast Pass Summit, which was very steep uphill, and very steep downhill!  We had a nice ice cream at the Makarora Café on the way back to Wanaka.  It has been another VERY HOT day.

Today I am celebrating 20 years of living here in Wanaka.  It has been such a great move for me and my family.  Looking forward to another 20 years.
