Book club No4

Week of numbers for me. 2 Guest blips, 1 leaving party and 4th (possibly last) book club in Manchester.

I suspect we are a bit of a rubbish book club in many ways. Of 7 attendees - 3 had not finished the book. One of them didn't start it, one read about 3 chapters and this is Debbie who was determined to finish it before the meeting. She did a damn good job and prob had a fifth of the book left to read by 7pm. This is her in the bar before we went in a last ditch effort to finish. Book clubber no 8 could not go but did submit an insightful book report.

The book was Various Pets, Alive and Dead by Marina Lewycha and I really enjoyed it. Easy to read and some enjoyable characters. Split the group though - as couple really did not enjoy it.

Was very good today and didn't quaff much wine as I have an interview at 10am tomorrow. Not very nervous as I know the chap vaguely who is interviewing me, I have been recommended by a colleague and, most importantly - this isn't the job I really want. Cv in for that one and hope to hear soon if they want me.
