Hinterland / YGwyll

We pass this disused quarry every day on our dog walk and today I nipped in to take a couple of pictures.  Several scenes from the first series of the S4C / BBC Wales TV drama - "Hinterland" / Y Gwyll - were filmed here, and I was quite thrilled when I spotted them (a body was pulled from the water)!  The series was filmed in and around Aberystwyth, which of course makes it of particular interest to me.  The show proved very popular and has been sold overseas - to various European countries, as well as Australia and soon the US & Canada.  A big boost for the Welsh film industry.  Each scene was filmed in Welsh and then in English.  A second series is due to begin on our screens very soon.  Look out for it!
