Poppy Wrapping
The highlight of my day was receiving an email to say my poppy had been delivered, and I just had time to collect the package from my neighbour before heading out to choir.
Back in November this poppy was one of the 888,246 poppies spilling out of a window of the Tower of London to fill the moat. Each poppy represents one of the British or Colonial military fatalities during the First World War. The complete installation, Blood Swept Lands and Seas of Red, was designed by Paul Cummings and Tom Piper to mark the centenary of the outbreak of war.
Opening the package was another delight, as it has been beautifully designed to hold the ceramic poppy safely in a nest of plastic bubble wrap with commemorative booklet, certificate and photos. So this also just about qualifies for Chantler63's January Challenge - Textures:plastic
