Negative
Tomorrow positive.
This is one of about 30 glass plate negatives a cousin suddenly produced and wondered if I would like to look at. Would I!!
They had been taken by his father as a young man and also our shared grandfather.
Even in the negative I can recognise my grandmother in the chair at left, my father in chair at right. Who the others are we will learn tomorrow when I turn a negative from c 1912 into a positive.
A bit like blip. There has to be change or we would still be carting round cameras on tripods and getting under a black sheet and getting everyone to stay still for minutes before taking the photo. Then there is the weight of these glass negs. They are heavy.
I have photographed them all and scanned them and rephotographed this one to make it the right day.I have taken it at all different settings.
Tomorrow I will turn it into a positive photo and we can see who else is in the photo.
PS I have never seen this photo before.
