The "Red Church" of Sonora.
D and K had an afternoon shopping today, so I took myself off to explore old Sonora. Lots of history around early gold mining days that reminded me a little of the west coast of the south island of NZ. This is St James church, a designated historic building on the Californian register, the oldest Episcopal church building in California and dates from 1859.
Today is our last day in USA. Tomorrow we have a leisurely drive to San Francisco to catch our evening flight back to NZ.
