not seeing straight

A day at the hospital. Mum wasn't as settled as yesterday but after the nurses had seen to her in the afternoon (while I nipped out for some daylight and a blip) she seemed more comfortable. 

We decided to leave just before the crowds came out of the neighbouring football ground. Wish I'd stayed ....... soon after 8 we got the call from the hospital we had been dreading.
