Sungei Road. Thieves Market. No More.

What used to be a messy, complicated, fascinating, bustling hub of commerce where one could buy anything and everything, is now a sterile, cleaned up, concreted over canal flowing between Rochor and Kallang.  It's nice and easy to walk along now, but totally lacks the character of the old. The colourful blocks of Rochor Centre won't be around for long.  They are earmarked to be demolished to make way for a highway.
