Come in
I had gone out to take pic of the dramatic gloomy cloud laden sky with the sun blinking it's last of our share of the daylight through a gap. But when I turned to come back in I was struck by the lights of the house tempting me inside with the promise of warmth and human generated light.
Something very basic in the comfort offered by a small light in the darkness of a long winter's night. I guess that's why we put so much effort into decorating our homes with twinkling lights at the darkest point of the year.
So I came in and trashed the xmas tree, it's now sitting naked in the porch waiting to be dragged out to the shed and dried out to be turned into kindling for the fire.
