The sentinel

Across the Fens where I live there are pill boxes etc from WW2. These formed part of a "stop line " that was to slow any invasion forces. This is a large gun emplacement covering a river crossing. I did read that the occupants of such structures were only expected to last a matter of a few hours if called into use.

I must apologise yet again for being behind with comments but I have had to reduce my time on the computer cos I have got rather painful tendons in the back of my hand from using the mouse - RSI ??.
