Follow me, I'm the Pied Piper (Motacilla alba)
You
With your masquerading
And you
Always contemplating
What to do
In case heaven has found you
Can't you see
That it's all around you
So follow me
Hey come on, babe
Follow me
I'm the Pied Piper
Follow me
I'm the Pied Piper
And I'll show you where it's at
I thought I already had a candidate for Blip of the day and was heading back to the car. As I approached the car park, this little bird flew past me at shoulder level and then proceeded in a trajectory in front of me. Its undulating flight was like it was beckoning me towards its landing. Its new perch was on the wing mirror of this van. As I got my phone ready, a pedestrian coming in the opposite direction startled it and it took a short flight to the roof of the van and did a little soft shoe shuffle to the other side of the roof. Slightly deflated I was just about to put the phone away, when the bird did a reverse "Chaplinesque" movement back to the wing mirror.
I took a shot from distance and proceeded to walk closer. The bird never moved when I captured this shot; in fact to my amazement he was still there when I walked past.
